Room electric heaters

Due to the fact that electricity is mostly a hundred percent energy efficient, the room electric heaters are the same. The only difference with each brand is that each manufacturer has a different method of converting electricity to heat. There are numerous electric heaters in the market, for instance, convection, radiant (with or without a fan), ceramic, oil filled column, micathermic and so forth. Each has its own uniqueness. The most efficient amongst them are those that raise the room’s temperatures to comfortable and cozy levels and as swiftly as possible and have a thermostat to control the corresponding heat automatically. Below are some ideas to assist in selecting energy efficient room electric heaters.

The conventional convention

These are also known as fan-forced heaters that are coil-based and mostly utilizes infrared wavelength advantageously by heating up a metallic coils that are fitted inside the heater. Infrared energy is then released by the coils which heat the air that passes through them and is then pushed back into the room.
For safety measures, these heaters have a mesh that prevents things from coming into contact with the heating elements inside it. Akin to coil based heaters are the electric baseboard heaters with the exception that they heat up a larger room effortlessly and their heat last for longer duration of time, thus making them quite energy efficient.

Ceramic is the way to go

These types of heaters are considerably safer than the standard coil based electric heaters. Due to the fact that ceramic core is larger than the heating coils; these heaters are best situated in rooms whose temperatures are low, for instance basements. They release similar amounts of heat energy which is then spread all over the room. Due to the heat retaining features of the ceramic materials, these heaters are capable of retaining heat for longer amounts of time as opposed to a normal electric heater. They are very energy efficient, thus consume less electricity and saving more money.

Halogen, anyone?

These are also known as reflective heaters and are amongst the latest in the heating technology. They use energy efficient halogen bulb technology to heat up a room. They make use of light to warm up the people around it, the same way the sun gives it heat. It is more comfortable being heated up this way as compared to the traditional way of heating up a room. They provide heat instantly at the touch of a button. Normally, they have a cool touch cabinet, an automatic tipi over protection and a double safety grill to prevent kids and pets from being burned when they come into contact with it. Best of all, they are suitable for any type of rooms.

Radiating heat with oil

These heaters comprise of a fluid contained in a sealed radiator type device. The heater is never filled up with any fluid apart from what it came with. The internal heating systems found in these heaters heats up the oil inside the radiator which then radiates the heat to the other parts of the room. They are very energy efficient since the heating element inside doesn’t need to be constantly switched on. Once the oil is well heated up, then the heater keeps releasing heat in a gradual manner.
